Favorite Pencils and Pens

Don't know about you, but I love the feel of a nice pen or pencil in my hands. Some can make art with a number two pencil from grade school, but for me, I need to feel like I'm wielding something that's special...something powerful! In other words, it's just like a placebo to my creative brain, haha! It's like if I have a nicer set of pencils and pens to work with, I'm more motivated to create and more likely to love what I just did.

I'm in love with the Faber Castell 9000 pencils. I only have the set of 6, but they come in a 12 set, too. I normally use the HB for basic sketching, but if I decide to shade, I reach for all of the others depending on the artwork. faber castell pencils 9000 The Pentel Twist-Erase 0.7 is great too. I mainly use this if I'm away from home and see something I want to sketch. This pencil will last a long time with how it's constructed, and AND, my most favorite thing about this mechanical pencil, is when you erase, it doesn't twist itself back down into the barrel. AMAZE. Only mech pencil I've worked with that is able to NOT be dumb and do this. twist erase pen sketchbook sketches As for the pens, I also dig the Faber-Castell PITT artist pens. I'm a fan, what can I say? Clear, black lines in a set of the most used by me. I love all the widths the set comes with, but you might like a wider variety...but for me these are perfect! faber castell pens pitt What are your favorite tools to make what you love? Paints? Wax?
